Covid-19

Covid-19 presents us with an unprecedented challenge. KL Stairlifts continues to review activities on a daily basis to comply with Government directives.

KL Stairlifts is a proud member of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) through whom we are co-ordinating industry efforts to keep the most vulnerable safe. Reducing the instance of accidents within the home will help reduce stress on the NHS hospital care system.

For existing customers our engineers continue to provide an essential service by maintaining customers’ lifts for ongoing safe, reliable and independent access, while acting within Government guidelines.

For new lift installations we offer the options of a phone call, or email consultation. For those with an urgent consultation needs, we will minimise risk by following latest Government guidelines.

Additional processes have been put in place to mitigate risk to you and our staff:

  • We will request confirmation that nobody at the property we are due to visit has Covid-19. If Covid-19 is present, or a person is isolating or deemed as extremely vulnerable, we will follow government advice.

  • All customer visits will be subject to additional measures. KL Stairlifts installers/engineers will not offer to shake hands and will maintain the prescribed 1 metre distance

  • Regular health and safety bulletins will be issued to all office and field-based staff.

KL Stairlifts will follow government advice at all times. Our priority is customer and staff safety, whilst continuing to provide the necessary support to our customers.

However, they have now begun a safe and phased return to offices with colleagues on hand to take urgent phone enquiries

All manufacturing facilities and Maintenance centres are operating at normal capacity, whilst ensuring safe working practices for staff. In many areas increased stock holdings have been implemented to ensure quick turnaround of products as the market re‐opens.

In light of another nation-wide lockdown with most people and company's in tiers 4 & 5. We know how important it is now more than ever to keep people moving so that people can carry out everyday tasks that are needed. This can be from customers in homes been able to get up and down stairs to company's moving passengers and goods to other parts of there buildings. Because of this we are classed as key workers and an essential business by the government and we have remained open throughout this pandemic. This enables our staff to still send their children to school so that we can keep working for our customers. We continue to follow guidance from the government and the Lift & Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) and monitor the situation on a daily basis and implement new protocols when necessary. In agreement with LEIA we believe lifts within domestic homes are essential to the user's quality of lift and provide the person to be able to move around their home. We continue our safety measures we have already put in place and in agreement with authority's we continue to carry out service visits to ensure the safety of all persons using lifts in both private and commercial property's.
